Admissions Overview


University Pathways Medical Magnet Academy is an innovative school of science where your child will thrive and grow as a future leader in the healthcare industry. We strongly encourage you to visit our campus, so you can see in person what our school has in store for you.


Who Can Apply

University Pathways Medical Magnet Academy is now accepting for incoming 9th-11th grade students for the 2019-2020 school year. The magnet application window is from October 1-November 9, 2018. 



In order to apply for University Pathways Medical Magnet Academy, students must live within Los Angeles Unified School District boundaries. Prospective students must complete an E-choices application. The application can be completed online (click on the APPLY icon on the homepage) or a hard copy can be submitted to the main office (contact the school to receive additional information on how to receive a hard copy). 


Acceptance Letters

Acceptance letters and phone calls will take place March 2019. All accepted students are required to complete the enrollment packet and submit the following supplemental documentation: immunization records, transcripts, 20-week report card with attendance summary, birth certificate, parent/guardian identification, and utility bill. 


Expectations Upon Enrollment

  1. Summer Bridge-All incoming 9th grade students are expected to attend the summer bridge program. Information will be provided at the June student orientation session.
  1. Students are required to take a minimum of 3 units (one class) per semester at Los Angeles Trade Tech College.
  1. Students are expected to maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 all four years of high school.
  1. Students are expected to maintain a 96% attendance rate per school year (7 or fewer absences).
